By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you’ve read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Advertising Policy. If you don’t agree with any part of these Terms, you mustn’t access or use the Platform.

  • News and Articles: Content relating to Nigerian developments, culture, and current affairs.
  • User-Generated Content: Features allowing users to submit reviews, comments, and other contributions.

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law, including, but not limited to, laws and regulations promulgated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) or other relevant authorities.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or servers or networks connected to the Platform.
  • Collect or store personal data about other users without their express consent.
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Platform without express written permission from us.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise use any automated means to access or gather information from the Platform without our explicit consent.

You are solely responsible for all content you upload, post, or otherwise make available on the Platform.

7. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Nigeriawide.com may allow users to submit, post, upload, or publish content, including reviews, comments, photos, videos, listings, and other materials (“User-Generated Content” or “UGC”).

  • License Grant: By submitting UGC, you grant Nigeriawide.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the UGC in connection with the Platform and our (and our successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Platform (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels.
  • Warranties: You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize Nigeriawide.com to use all intellectual property rights in and to any UGC you submit.
  • Content Standards: You agree that your UGC will comply with our content standards outlined in the “User Conduct and Responsibilities” section.
  • Monitoring & Removal: We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, or remove any UGC at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including if we believe it violates these Terms or is harmful to our users or the Platform.
  • Disclaimer: We’re not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, or legality of any UGC posted by users.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

  • Our Content: All content on Nigeriawide.com, including text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of Nigeriawide.com or its content suppliers and protected by Nigerian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
  • Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
  • Restrictions: You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products, or services obtained from the Platform without our prior written consent.

  • Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nigeriawide.com, its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nigeriawide.com, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that such parties may incur as a result of or arising from your (or anyone using your account’s) violation of these Terms or any applicable law, your User-Generated Content, or your access to or use of the Platform.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
  • Jurisdiction: You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be exclusively brought in the federal or state courts located in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • Dispute Resolution: While we encourage direct communication to resolve disputes, if a dispute arises, you agree to first attempt to resolve it through good faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, parties may agree to mediation before pursuing litigation.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Platform or follow any specific account termination procedures provided on the Platform. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

15. Miscellaneous

  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Advertising Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nigeriawide.com regarding your use of the Platform.
  • Waiver: No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without our prior written consent. Any attempt by you to assign or transfer these Terms, without such consent, will be null and void. We may freely assign or transfer these Terms without restriction.
