Nigerian Air Force Announces Graduate Recruitment for 2024 Direct Short Service Commission

Abuja, Nigeria – October 15, 2024 – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has opened applications for its 2024 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC 33/2024). This program offers qualified graduates and post-graduates the opportunity to train as officers in various professional fields and serve their nation.

Interested applicants can begin submitting their applications online for free through the official NAF recruitment portal: www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. The application window opened on October 14, 2024, and will close on November 26, 2024.

The NAF emphasizes the importance of reviewing the required disciplines before applying. Multiple submissions or errors in the application will result in disqualification.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the DSSC program, applicants must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen.
  • Meet the minimum height requirement of 1.66 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females.
  • Be in good physical and mental health, free from any medical conditions.
  • Possess a clean criminal record.
  • Be between 20 and 30 years old (except for Medical Consultants, who can be between 25 and 40 years old).

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division (Second Class Upper) degree or an Upper Credit for Higher National Diploma (HND) holders. Additionally, they must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects to their field of study. Computer literacy is considered an advantage.

Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program is mandatory. Applicants must have their Discharge Certificate or a Letter of Exemption available at the time of application. Registration with relevant professional bodies in Nigeria is required where applicable.

Selection Process

Following the application period, shortlisted candidates will be invited for aptitude tests. Dates and locations for these tests will be announced on the NAF recruitment portal. The NAF warns that any false information provided or multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.

All applications must be completed online within the specified timeframe. Once an application is submitted successfully, applicants must print and sign all relevant documents.

Upon meeting the eligibility and qualification criteria, shortlisted candidates will need to print the following documents:

  • Local Government Area Attestation Form, signed by a Military/Police Officer or other approved authorities.
  • Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
  • Attestation of Good Character Form.
  • Acknowledgment Form.
