Niger State Government Partners Overland Airways to Launch Flights from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna

Minna, Niger State – April 19, 2025 – The Niger State Government has announced a landmark partnership with Overland Airways to commence scheduled flight operations from the newly inaugurated Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, starting April 23, 2025.

This historic development will connect Minna to Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria’s political and commercial hubs, marking a significant leap in regional air travel and economic growth for Niger State.

A Visionary Partnership for Regional Connectivity

Under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Mohammed Umaru Bago, the Niger State Government has worked closely with the New Niger Development Project (NNDP) and New Niger Aviation (NNA)—a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) dedicated to advancing the state’s aviation sector—to bring this initiative to life.

Alhaji Liman Katamba Kutigi, Chief Operating Officer of NNA, emphasized the broader impact of the new air route:
“This launch is more than an air route—it’s a bridge to opportunity. By partnering with Overland Airways, we are setting a new standard in regional air connectivity, with safety, reliability, and economic impact at the center. This is the beginning of a broader agenda to transform Niger State into a key player in Nigeria’s aviation and logistics corridor.”

World-Class Airport Infrastructure

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport has undergone extensive upgrades to meet international aviation standards, positioning it as a strategic gateway for business, trade, and tourism.

Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline, will operate flights using its state-of-the-art Embraer E-175 aircraft, ensuring safety and comfort for passengers.
