IHS Nigeria is the largest independent owner, operator, and developer of shared communications infrastructure in Nigeria, and a foundational part of IHS Towers’ global operations. Established in Lagos in 2001, IHS Nigeria manages over 16,000 tower sites across the country, serving as the critical backbone for mobile network operators (MNOs) and other communication service providers.

The company’s core mission is to enable seamless wireless voice and data services by providing robust and reliable telecommunications infrastructure. Through its colocation services, IHS allows multiple MNOs to share tower space, significantly optimizing costs and promoting efficient network expansion. IHS also undertakes new site builds to extend network coverage, particularly in rural and underserved communities, actively working to bridge Nigeria’s digital divide.

Beyond traditional tower services, IHS Nigeria has notably expanded its offerings to include:

• Fiber Connectivity: Through its subsidiary, Global Independent Connect Limited (GICL), IHS Nigeria has rolled out over 10,000 km of fiber optic cables across all 36 states and the FCT, bolstering support for 4G and 5G services.
• Rural Telephony Solutions: Deploying innovative, often solar-powered, base stations to bring mobile connectivity to remote and hard-to-reach areas.
• In-building Solutions (DAS) & Small Cells: Enhancing network quality and coverage in high-density urban environments and large indoor venues.
