Germany, UN Seal €8.5 Million Deal for Police Reform Project in Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria – The German government and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have signed an agreement worth €8.5 million to support police reform efforts in Nigeria. The project aims to enhance the capacity and professionalism of the Nigerian police force and strengthen its ability to combat crime and corruption.

The three-year project will focus on several key areas, including:

  • Training and Capacity Building: The project will provide training to Nigerian police officers on a range of topics,such as human rights, community policing, and investigative techniques.
  • Institutional Reform: The project will support efforts to reform the Nigerian police force, including improving accountability and transparency.
  • Equipment and Infrastructure: The project will provide the Nigerian police with new equipment and infrastructure, such as vehicles and communication systems.
