First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Donates N100 Million to Dikko Tanker Explosion Victims

Minna, Niger State – In a compassionate gesture aimed at alleviating the suffering of victims of the recent Dikko tanker explosion, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N100 million to the Niger State Government. The donation was made during a private visit to Minna, where the First Lady expressed her condolences and solidarity with the affected families and communities.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, was intended to offer comfort and support to the victims of the tragic incident. Senator Tinubu emphasized that her contribution was meant to complement the efforts of the Niger State Government in providing relief to those affected by the disaster.
“This donation is to support what the State Government is already doing to bring succour to the victims of this unfortunate incident,” the First Lady stated.
She further commiserated with the Government and people of Niger State, praying that such a disaster would not occur again in the country. Senator Tinubu also commended Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his developmental strides, particularly in the agricultural sector, which she described as critical to the nation’s growth.

Traditional Rulers Applaud First Lady’s Gesture
Earlier during the visit, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, who spoke on behalf of the eight emirate councils in the state, thanked Senator Tinubu for her efforts. He encouraged her to continue supporting the state, particularly in the field of agriculture, to further enhance the government’s initiatives.
Visit to Former Leaders
As part of her visit to Minna, the First Lady, accompanied by the Second Lady, Hajiya Nana Shettima, and the Wife of the Niger State Governor, Dr. Fatima Bago, paid courtesy visits to the residences of former Nigerian leaders, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Senator Tinubu described the former leaders as “Petrarchs of the nation,” acknowledging their immense contributions to Nigeria’s history and development. She expressed gratitude for their continued guidance and wisdom, which she said remain invaluable to the nation’s progress.
